Ok so lemme get this straight; because a woman doesn’t run and say hello to you and fawn all over you she is a “bitch” and because you don’t want to “fuck her” she is “Disgusting” and “nothing special,” but then one bandmate, who still thinks she is a “bitch” wants her b/c she is “hot”? So if you are woman you have to one, fawn over a man, and two, be prepared to be objectified and either be “Fuckable” or “disgusting.” If you fail at these things then no matter what you do, you are a “bitch,” men will call you this, to another woman, who will laugh and think it is ok because they are “hot” and “new” WTF Fuck you The Wanted 

To be honest, I dislike how often discussions of racism get derailed to explain to people that the dictionary definition is out-of-date and inadequate but I feel it is a conversation we need to have.  Racism will always be more complex than a “hatred or intolerance of another race or other races”.  It is a set of practices and subconscious behaviors that continuously teaches us to default to white, where “nude” is considered to be beige, and black folks and Hispanics have higher incarceration rates than whites for the similar crimes.  By saying this I am not undermining bullying you may have received in grade, middle or high school and I am also not saying people of color cannot be prejudiced against other races themselves.  All I am saying is we, as people of color, cannot be racist since we lack the power to full on oppress you.  It is truly that simple to grasp.

 Firstly, I know I should not be thinking about this when watching Underworld but I can’t turn off my mind-even on cloud 9. So sitting in the Esquire surrounded by people who will not hesitate to answer a phone in the middle of a movie, next to a guy I am completely feeling-even though I shouldn’t- I see Kate Beckingsdale in her dominatrix glory once again kick some lycan ass; aIl I could do was sigh and slump down and prepare myself for 90 minutes of bleakness, bad lighting, and contradictory plot punctuated with flat dialogue that would cause the Kate who was in Much Ado About Nothing slap Selene’s stone face. But once again do take note that I generally like Underworld, but this movie was just so lackluster and awful, but it did do one thing: by being so awful I started thinking about Underworld’s underbelly instead of how good the boy by me looked in his 501 jeans (trust me this was hard because boy’s print was showing and them legs looked nice in that denim), and here is what I thought:
